Advocating for systemic impact on a national scale

Investing in historically disinvested communities requires thoughtful partnerships with established local networks and initiatives. The Build from Within Alliance is advocating for an approach that puts neighborhoods and longterm residents at the center of community development. When politicians and local organizations come together around a shared vision, we see real and sustainable growth, job creation, and quality of life for residents. These investments can empower the community through inclusive decision-making and reverse longstanding inequalities.

Community Leaders Have the Power to Lift Up Neighborhoods and transform lives

“This small business is not particularly in a well-to-do area. It's a pretty tough area. But we believe in that area. We believe that this neighborhood can be one that is solid. But if you don't commit to it, if you don't make the investment there, it's pretty hard to attract others. Because when you believe, others will come in. And the good begets good. Provide that incentive to others, provide that hope for others. And continue this work of trying to remove some of the barriers.”
